I packed my backpacks for my bus ride to Puerto Iguazu later on today. I arrived at 16 o'clock for my reservation at The Vines of Mendoza. I said hello to Yael and walked into the air conditioned bar room. My wine server for today was Pedro, a nice guy. Because I already made my mark in the last couple of weeks, Pedro said I could choose any wine from the 3 flights that I could have. I picked 3 wines and  Pedro recommended another two. The first wine was a Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 Reserva from Hacienda del Plata. The wine had amazing aromas of cherry, strawberry, cheese and light oak. Flavors included wild berry, oak, and tobacco with a round and dry oaky finish. I really loved this wine.

The second wine was from Gentile Collins, a Gran Syrah 2002. This wine had oak and vanilla aromas, together with flavors of plum and oak, with a fruity earthy finish. The next wine was a Cavas de Crianza Malbec 2005 from Bodega Clos de Chacras. The wine had great cherry, vanilla, and buttery aromas. The next Antucura blend of Cabernet and Merlot from 2004 had a nice fresh wild berry aroma with a cherry oak flavor. I couldn't resist for the fifth wine that I picked to be Carmelo Patti's Cabernet Sauvignon 2002. I love this wine and I don't think that I need to write anymore about it than I already have. Anyway, all these wines were free, so I couldn't resist paying some money for some more good wine. I decided that I would try 2 more glasses of wine. I decided to try a Malbec 2004 from Enrique Foster. It had amazing aromas of wild berry, earth and nuts. The wine had a medium body with flavors of plum, oak, berry and a smooth fruity finish. I really enjoyed this wine. Pedro recommended my next glass would be from Qaramy, Pachahuasi 2005, a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. It was a tasty blend, no other words are needed. After paying for my wine I thanked Pedro and Yael for the great evening, my last one in the city of Mendoza.

Arriving in, staying, bike riding, talking, laughing, meeting, eating, drinking, drinking, and more drinking, were one of the greatest experiences of my life being in and around the city of Mendoza. I had such a great time that I cannot even start to explain my huge appreciation to all the great people that I have met during my stay in Mendoza. All people were helpful, generous, kind, happy, and understanding. I can't wait to come back and do it again.

כבר ביום הראשון במנדוזה החתול הזה כיכב בתנוחתו אצל דון הוגו (איפה ששכרתי את האופניים במייפו).

מי שזוכר, ביום ה-8 יש עוד תמונה של דוגמא קטנה.  ביקב סאלנטיין בעמק האוקו, יש דוגמא של בערך 4 מטר מרובע. הדוגמא מראה את הבציר, את השינוע, ואת שאר העבודות שמתבצעות ביקב במאה ה-19. 

 

למי שמצליח לקרוא משהו, אז ככה בעצם בצעתי את רשימות היין שלי בתקופת מנדוזה.  היו לי כ"כ הרבה ניירות כאלה שפעם אחת כמעט טבעתי בהם. הפס הירוק באמצע נעשה אחרי שהכנסתי את כל הנתונים למחשב בארץ.

 ביקב לופז שיפצו חביות גדולות ישנות בשביל אטרקציה תיירותית. עליי זה עבד.

  אחד מהמלבקים הכי טובים שטעמתי.  כשאני אחזור למנדוזה, עוד לפני שאני אבקר את סניור פטי, אני נכנס לחנות וקונה בקבוק מלבק כזה, קונה סטייק גדול במכולת, מכין גחלים, ו… הבנתם לא?

 אז לאן?  לשם…  רשימת היקבים באזורים השונים. היו לי 3 דפים כאלה.

  כרמים.

 בתקופת מנדוזה גם הסתובבתי בעיר בכל מיני אתרים היסטוריים וגם במזרקות. הגבעה הזאת פשוט מדהימה.

  האנדרטה. גנרל מרטין יושב על הסוס מקדימה.

  אם אני לא טועה זו PLAZA ESPANA, אחת מהמזרקות הרבות שיש בתוך העיר.

  מפת מנדוזה. האכסניה שלי הייתה למטה ומימין לתחנת האוטובוס המרכזית.

 יום אחד טיילתי להר הכי גבוה בדרום אמריקה. לצערי לא ראיתי אותו כי הוא התחבא מאחורי עננים. למה יש לי חור בחולצה? זה כבר סיפור אחר לגמרי…

טוב, נראה לי שזהו זה ולא אחרת. אין לי מספיק מילים לשבח את מנדוזה. כל מה שאתם יכולים לעשות זה להאמין לכל מילה. סיכום קצר בקרוב…
